One Two Three Four Five
One, two, three, four, five.
Once I caught a fish alive,
Six, seven, eight, nine ,ten,
Then I let it go again.
Why did you let it go?
Because it bit my finger so.
Which finger did it bite?
This little finger on the right.
Comment:
This is a rhyme specically written to help children to count. In England, when counting, one starts with the thumb and ends with the small finger hence that is the one that is bitten at the end.
